Merry Christmas!

Just wanted to drop in and say Merry Christmas from our family to yours! As an early Christmas present, Missy's wig came in on Wednesday night. A HUGE thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Jillian for getting this for Missy. It looks so amazing and you can see how happy it makes her. They were able to use her own hair that we cut off before the surgery, so obviously it is a perfect match :) The wig has really brightened her spirits and we are all so thankful for it.

Missy is off work from now until the new year, which will be a wonderful and needed break for her. As her treatments roll on, it is getting harder and harder for her to make it through a full day. Her last radiation is January 3rd, and we can't wait!

I just wanted to say thank you again to everyone who has donated to help cover costs and living expenses during Missy's treatments. You all have been amazing, and it has touched us more than we could say. At this time of Christmas it is so clear how we are surrounded by the most giving friends and family in the world. Thank you all.

**If you would like to make a donation, we have set up an account in her benefit, which is tax deductible, at Fifth Third Bank. Donations will be used to help cover medical expenses and cost of living during her treatment and recovery. They can be dropped off at any 5/3 Bank location, or can be mailed to the address on the left sidebar. Donations can also be made through Paypal by using the donation button, also on the left. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do.**

A New Update

Just wanted to drop in and let you all know Missy is still doing amazingly well with her treatments! She now has two weeks to go, and I know she is so ready for it to be over. The radiation and chemo are taking their toll, but for now she is still working and seeing people as much as possible.

Missy talked to the wig maker earlier this week and found out that she has a wig that was already partially made that will match her hair perfectly! This is such a blessing because it means the wig should be able to be completed this week, rather than several weeks from now like we were thinking. Missy has lost more hair over this past week, but her doctor actually thinks the hair loss may slow down and be nearly done. It will take around 12 weeks after the last treatment for any hair to begin coming back, so we know she is excited to get her custom wig!

Christmas is coming up fast, and she has been able to do most of her Christmas shopping online or with the help of some shopping elves :) She has been able to pick out each and every gift and I know she has enjoyed still being apart of the Christmas season. Thank you all for keeping her in your thoughts and prayers during the holidays. We so appreciate each and every one of you.

Halfway Done!

Missy's treatment today marked the halfway point in her radiation and chemo treatments! The radiation is definitely starting to effect her and she is extremely tired, but she is still doing amazingly well and has been so strong. She is still working and able to meet for dinner after work, but she is resting as much as possible.

We made her wig mold last weekend, so that is now in the process of being made. Making a wig mold is rather enjoyable, actually. Missy's childhood friend Natalie, Nick and I all helped her with it, and it was a fun night. She has a woman in Texas making it for her, and it should be ready in a few weeks. Her hair has started coming out, so for now she is going to get a wig from the American Cancer Society. If she is up for it, she is going by there today to see what they have.

I think that's about it for now. She is pushing on, making it through each day. Getting closer and closer to the end of these treatments. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. They are so appreciated.

The Dollar Club

Missy found out yesterday that our church, Southland Christian, has decided to give her the weekly donation from the Dollar Club. Each week everyone puts an extra dollar in the offering on top of what they would normally give. Then Southland takes that weeks attendance, and gives that dollar amount to a person or family in need in the community (sometimes it is split between multiple families, we are not sure if that is the case this week or not). It is to help pay medical bills or cover the cost of living to help people get through a hard time in their lives. Well, Missy's best friend Mandy nominated her, and Southland decided she was this weeks person in need.

We are blown away by this gift. So incredibly grateful to God for providing for her. She is so surrounded by love during such a dark and difficult time. Thank you to everyone for all of your thoughts, prayers and support. We cannot tell you how much this means to Missy. This along with all your donations and fund raisers have helped to take the strain of finances off her shoulders, which is perfect. Money is the last thing we want her worrying about.

Thank you to Mandy for nominating Missy and thank you to all the members of Southland for supporting such an amazing program. It is making a huge difference. We are so grateful.
